Grape and Grain Catering Co. win management contract with Manchester Cathedral Visitor Centre

Event supplier Grape and Grain Catering Co. have won the contract to take over the management of Manchester Cathedral Visitor Centre. To go live this month, the company are set to drive their mobilisation plan, along with a sales and marketing strategy, in order to run and sell the space to full capacity. A key part of the city’s Medieval Quarter supporting the tourist hotspot. The Manchester Cathedral Visitor Centre site boasts spacious and brilliantly situated conference and meeting rooms overlooking the Cathedral and its gardens. With the new resource and management, Grape and Grain Catering Co plan to maximise on these spaces. Targeting specifically city centre corporate clients who wish to use the space for training seminars, team building workshops and networking events. CHS Awards 2017 Finalists Unique Venues of Manchester had a great show exhibiting at CHS17 in Leeds last month. A huge well done to the CHS Group team. We saw some existing and met lots of new customers. Already looking forward to next year! #CHSRocks. What’s even better is that the Victoria Warehouse team have been nominated for two awards. Best Unusual Event Space and Best Independent Venue. It doesn’t stop there. The Monastery Manchester have also been nominated in the Best Unusual Event Space category. And The Bridgewater Hall for Best Auditorium. The potential for a great night for Unique Venues of Manchester members. There are other Manchester venues and hotels with nominations, include Hotel Football for Best Independent Venue. The Lowry Hotel for Best Bedroom. Emirates Old Trafford for Best Large Conference/Exhibition Space and Best Boardroom Small Meeting Room. And EventCity for Best Onsite Audio Visual and Leisure Facilities. The Monastery Manchester Opens New Welcome Wing A new £3m extension has opened for events at The Monastery Manchester. The brand new eco-friendly wing provides a fantastic space for both corporate and private events, as well as community activities.   The contemporary space is perfect for conference registration and catering. As well as pre-dinner drinks for corporate dinners, private parties and charity events. The new wing stands on the original footprint of a previous wing, which was torn down in the 1960’s.  The carbon neutral building is 6,650 sq ft and offers lots of natural daylight. It also offers direct access to the gardens and main event space, The Great Nave. The Welcome Wing can accommodate up to 350 guests for a standing reception and 100 guests in a banquet style. The extension was made possible after a National Heritage Lottery Fund grant of almost £2m, and a £1m donation from the Stoller Charitable Trust.  Chief executive officer of The Monastery of St Francis & Gorton Trust, Elaine Griffiths said “This is a tremendously exciting day for us.  This new building blends beautifully with the church and friary and we are delighted with the results.
