SPONSORSHIP AWARD SUCCESS FOR HILTON AND LANCASHIRE CRICKET Hilton and Lancashire Cricket Club are delighted to have been named ‘Sport Sponsorship of the Year’, at the 2018 UK Sponsorship Awards. The accolade celebrates the ‘Best Beds in the House’ activation, which enabled guests to watch Lancashire Cricket pitch-side, from the comfort of a Hilton Garden Inn bed – with a complimentary private bar and room service included! The partnership was shortlisted with the likes of Cadburys, the Premier League, Mastercard, Stella Artois and NatWest, before ultimately being crowned winners. Launched at the Lancashire vs Yorkshire T20 Blast fixture, the ‘Best Beds in the House’ concept was to drive awareness of the new hotel at Emirates Old Trafford in 2017, as well as showcase Hilton Garden Inn’s bright hearted hospitality, as they sought to further launch their brand into the UK market. The activation area consisted of a terrace space with four Hilton standard king size beds on show for all to see within the ground, as well as those watching live on national television, throughout key fixtures during the season. Fans who entered the ground were able to take part in social media competition with Hilton, for the chance to win access to the exclusive area. Both partners were determined to engage with fans in the stadium, plus enhancing their experience on a cricket match day, as well as those watching the live broadcast matches on Sky TV – creating a total television reach of over 4.5million. 6 Months at the Hilton Garden Inn Emirates Old Trafford

6 MONTHS AT THE HILTON GARDEN INN EMIRATES OLD TRAFFORD Business and leisure guests have now been enjoying the Hilton Garden Inn at Emirates Old Trafford for six months. The four-star hotel, which famously celebrated its opening at the home of Lancashire Cricket Club last September with outdoor beds, helps to serve the growing numbers of business and leisure visitors in Manchester. In the first four weeks of business, the team had accelerated sales and revenues to the level that would have been expected for the third and fourth months of trading. By the end of November, the four-star hotel had taken over 10,500 room bookings and welcomed even more customers – including some internationally famous faces, such as leading politicians and sports personalities. So far in 2018, Hilton Garden Inn Emirates Old Trafford has achieved all of its room targets for ‘quarter one’ by 2nd March. The team, which now boasts over 50 members of staff, has already laundered 154,637 sheets, pulled 18,500 pints of beer and served up more than 2,900 Gin & Tonics and 1,600 of its delicious signature Mobley Burgers. Bedrooms The accommodation perfectly complements the impressive conference, event and hospitality facilities already on-site, offering 150-bedrooms, 85 of which are pitch-facing, and there are 80 with balconies, boasting stunning views over one of cricket’s best known venues – adding to the superb hospitality offering for concerts, Lancashire Cricket and England fixtures. Iconic event space Victoria Warehouse have been shortlisted for ‘Best Unusual Venue’ at this year’s National Venue Awards. The nationwide awards showcase the excellence of venues from anywhere in the UK, focusing on their facilities, innovation, service level and contribution to the events industry. The National Venue Awards, organised by GCN Events contain 21 categories to suit all types of venues hosting a events such as gala dinners, conferences, weddings and exhibitions. The awards will be judged by a panel of key influencers representing expertise from every facet of the industry. Key personalities within the sector included in the judging panel this year are; Ian Edwards, Chief Executive at the Celtic Manor Collection, Kerrin MacPhie, Head of Business Events at VisitBritain and Heather Carter, Director at Blenheim Palace.
